Picked up this little web-score from, believe it or not, Ellusionist’s blog this afternoon to some of the most facinating playing card designs I have seen to-date. Apparently Thecontaminated.com has a small collection of some very high resolution, and absolutely amazing playing card images in the theme of life and death by Hungarian CG artist Kornél Ravadits. A must see for all playing card lovers.
Also be sure to check the “via” links at the bottom of this post which will lead you to some other fascinating card images.

Turns out that p22.com actually has another set of cards in a much higher resolution, Just follow the link below and you will be presented with a round spread of small cards. Just drag them over to the eye in the middle and they will zoom in to a fairly decent resolution. Link to card images.

While sifting through google’s image search, I came across this very interesting jpg image of 54 custom designed playing cards from typeface creation site P22.com. I only wish the cards were in a slightly larger resolution but nonetheless, some very classy designs.

Card-Shark.de has a rather interesting online application to design your own custom gaff cards and have them professionally printed. The app is quite simple and only has a handful of options, however the admin of the site claims that he can print just about any design on a playing card in A+ quality. So should the app not cut it for you, you can always contact the owner of the site, Christian Schenk, and work out something with him as he seems more than personable enough to do so. Check out the app here.
Also be sure and visit the the main site here and check out their other gaff card options. A must see for those that are tired of scrubbing off pips and printing smeared cards from an inkjet.
