Cards of Life and Death – Amazing Card Designs!

Sunday, December 14th, 2008

Picked up this little web-score from, believe it or not, Ellusionist’s blog this afternoon to some of the most facinating playing card designs I have seen to-date. Apparently Thecontaminated.com has a small collection of some very high resolution, and absolutely amazing playing card images in the theme of life and death by Hungarian CG artist Kornél Ravadits. A must see for all playing card lovers.

Also be sure to check the “via” links at the bottom of this post which will lead you to some other fascinating card images.

How to Make a Napkin Rose

Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

You know that here at PhatusMagic we are always looking out for your best interests, and that even includes your game with the ladies. Thats right fellas. I am by no means an expert when it comes to women but there are two things I have learned over the years. #1 All women love to dance. Not just some, but ALL!! And #2 Chicks dig flowers!

Anyone who has ever performed magic for people will understand that its not just the illusions that captivate the audience, but rather its the entertainment that makes or breaks a performance. That being said, here is a link that will show you how to easily craft a napkin rose to break the ice with that hottie at the bar next time you get the nerve to approach a female, or for you youngsters to bust out on that cutie at lunch time. I don’t care who ya are, you could be the biggest dork in school, but whip up one of these babies for her and it will be no time at all till you have a partner for the upcoming dance. And remember what I said about women and dancing right? Enjoy fellas!

P.S. Throw in a little invisible thread, and you’ll be smoother than David Copperfield in Vegas.
