   A neat variation of this trick uses crayons instead. You have the spectator choose a crayon and write down their color with that crayon. Then you have them put the crayon in your hand. Emphasize it must be the same crayon because you are “seeing” the crayon with your hand. Scrap off a bit of the crayon with your fingernail. Then tell your spectator to take the crayon. Say that you must smell the crayon because you’re not sure what color it is. WHen you are “smelling” it, check what color you scraped off and make sure to get the crayon off your finger so people don’t figure it out.
